Requirements for elevators in pavilion and modular construction
In recent years, pavilion and modular construction have become increasingly popular in the Nordic countries and improved dramatically in design and adaptability. The lightweight constructions have opened up the possibility of adding an extension, temporary or permanent construction, to buy, lease or rent and to be able to remove the modules again. However, the modular construction, like all other new construction, fall under the Building Regulations rules regarding elevators.
According to BR18 (§244) of the Building Regulations, at least one elevator, which can be operated on each floor, must be installed in all new buildings with three floors and above. This means that there is a requirement for an elevator in a building with a ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor. In addition, this applies to each rise in multi-storey buildings.
All-in-one elevator solution
HYDRO-CON's elevator solutions are manufactured and delivered with their own self-supporting shaft, cabin and machinery, in other words as an all-in-one solution. This makes the installations particularly suitable for module and pavilion construction as the instalations, like the modules, can be moved and reused if needed. As a manufacturer, we also have the opportunity to offer many customization options, such as color, glass panels, doors, floors and controls, etc.
SELF-SUPPORTING ELEVATOR SHAFTS FOR LIGHT WEIGHT BUILDINGS
BENEFITS OF SELF-SUPPORTING SHAFTS
The shaft can be delivered as a self-supporting machine-roomless construction, or in an edition that does not need binding to a building or a balcony repository - that is, which can be completely free-standing!
This is especially favorable for pavilion or other types of lightweight buildings that may not necessarily be able to absorb the weight from an elevator tower.
INSTALLATION TIME REDUCED BY 80%
As something unique in the industry, we can pre-assemble the installation as a complete unit at our factory and deliver the elevator system for installation by crane as a popularly said fit and finished "drop-and-go" unit, without the need for major adjustments to the surroundings.
Thus, elevator assembly can be done with minimal inconvenience at the often cramped and busy construction sites. The quality is also increased since the risk of errors and downtime after commissioning is minimized by the fact that the quality control can be done before sending the finished installation.
The shaft and cabin are assembled and pre-tested before being shipped to the installation site. At the installation site, the system can then simply be craned into the building, after which our skilled installers fasten and commission the system. Next, we initiate government approval of the installation, which we have booked in advance, and takes approxamately 1 hour.

ELEVATOR TYPES USED FOR PAVILLON & MODULE BUILDING
You can choose from three different types of elevators for pavilion and modular construction, HSC, LSC, and LSP. Which one to choose depends largely on which parameters are most important for you. Is it the price, the speed, the comfort or the automation?
HSC is our high-speed elevator and is in the higher price range, LSC is in the middle price range and LSP is our most affordable lift solution. It is the individual municipalities that specify the requirements for an elevator, and this can vary greatly from municipality to municipality.
If you need more information about the differences between the elevator types or how to choose the right type for your project, you can find out more in our elevator guide here.
Extension and installation posibilities
All our elevators are suitable for indoor as well as outdoor placement and can run between all floors from basement to ceiling. Our elevators have the best cabin space optimization in the market in relation to shaft size.
Our indoor solutions are designed to be built-in where there is very little space. And our outdoor solutions can, for example, be installed up to a balcony, a hallway, with its own repos or with direct access from the building
Produced in - and suitable for the Danish climate
All materials, mechanics and electronics have been developed for placement and endurance in the outdoor, sometimes harsh, Scandinavian climate.
There are several advantages to choosing a Danish manufacturer such as HYDRO-CON, for example we know the conditions that the outdoor products must be able to withstand. Therefore, our outdoor products are characterized by their endurance, high quality, and long life span. We installed the first outdoor installations more than 25 years ago and they are still running.

PAVILLON & MODULAR BUILDING ELEVATOR GALLERY
Above is a gallery of pictures of some of the pavilion and modular construction projects that HYDRO-CON has supplied and installed elevators for. We supply our lifts as a total project solution also called total contract. That is, we handle everything from the initial inspection to the pre-installed and in-service elevator. This eliminates the need for you to handle coordination and contact between several suppliers or craftsmen.
