Family's requirements for accessibility in newly purchased apartment
A family had chosen an apartment at Sortedams Dossering in Copenhagen that they were interested in. The family had some special requirements for accessibility both to and from the property, and in the property itself, as one of the family members has a disability that requires wheelchair use. They were on a very tight schedule with total renovation of the apartment, total change of space distribution and an elevator solution. It was especially important for them that everything was installed and ready for use at the same time, so that everyone could move in directly at once.
Finding the right elevator solution
The family contacted us, HYDRO-CON, at the beginning of the summer about which elevator solutions were possible. As always, we agreed on date for us to come out and inspect the property, so that we are able to advise them, under the best conditions and find the right solution for their particular project. The apartment was on the first floor and exclusively had a traditional main stair access.
We could therefore advise the customer to choose an external elevator installation that could drive up to a repository with direct access to the apartment (seen in picture), as there wasn't room inside the building. Furthermore, we were able to advise the customer to seek a building permit from the municipality to set up an outdoor elevator in the backyard. In the meantime, we prepared a non-binding offer for an LSPO (Low Speed Platform Outdoor) elevator solution for the family. Both approval from the municipality and of the offer was quickly received, and we started the productionen of the LSPO.
Quick installation and commissioning
The family required quick installation and commissioning, as it was especially important for them that the elevator was ready for use at the same time as the renovation of the apartment was completed. We were ablt to meet this schedule.
From the time we were contacted, to the time the LSPO was installed, commissioned and approved by the authorities, only 7 weeks passed. That is including the production time.
In addition, the installation and commissioning was completed within one week. Thus, we were able to deliver a fully functional elevator solution (seen in picture) in the middle of the summer holidays, and according to the customer's schedule.
